Club History (18/07/09)

Dawlish United, Youth & Mini Soccer is a volunteer organisation providing a safe environment for the youth of Dawlish and surrounding areas to play football regardless of ability. Set up in 1997 from what was Dawlish Generals FC; with the sole focus on the youth, the club now boasts in access of 250 children and adults within the organisation and is one of the largest such organisations in the region.

In 2004 the club launched its first adult side. Primarily this was to create an exit route for those youths who wanted to continue representing Dawlish United in competitive football. In each season since the launch of the adult side they have achieved promotion year on tear and this season will participate in the Devon & Exeter Senior Division 5. Last season due to the continued growth of the club a reserve adult side was introduced which also achieved promotion to the South Devon League division 6 for the coming season.

The club was awarded the F.A Charter Standard Community club award in 2007, the highest Football Association award for excellence available.

Teams in the Exeter Friendly League, the Devon & Exeter League, the South Devon League and the Pioneer League represent the club.

All our managers and coaches are required to attend a minimum of a Level 1 Football Association coaching course and must complete a Criminal Records Bureau clearance application.
